TEAM AWARDS
Just before our game vs Hamilton last night, the team awards were given out. These awards were voted on by the players. Special mention to players Brendan, Willie and Drew whose late addition to the team helped greatly with Willie's excellent play and leadership, Drew's positive attitude and love of the game and Brendan's never give up attitude. Also, huge thanks go out to our AP's Mitch, Andrew, Ben, Eric, Trevor, Blaise, Trenton and Adam who helped during difficult parts of our season. Very special thanks to Izach, our "Director of Player Personnel" who actively recruited players and AP's to make our team better. Thanks to Nate who looked after the facebook group and posted some great video. Big thanks to Jason McCulloch and Steve Laplante who helped me stay focused as well.
To Liam who learned very quickly about contact hockey at MD level and who's game got better and better all year goes the MOST IMPROVED PLAYER. To Nathan who never yaps at officials and is the first player into scrums to help move his teammates away and is always encouraging his goaltenders goes the MOST SPORTSMANLIKE PLAYER. To Andrew who stuck by the team in difficult situations and made every out of town game, even on his 16th birthday goes, the MOST DEDICATED PLAYER. The "SPIRIT AWARD" which is given to the player who shows the most combined ability, sportsmanship and leadership was given to Kyle who came to us from North London at the start of the year. Kyle came to a team that he has played against for the last 5 years and fit like an old comfy blanket. His attitude has been infectious on this team and this award is well deserved. Congratulations to the whole team for their difficult season and great job in making the season fun again during the playoffs. Coach Phill
