St. Thomas Tournament Champs!
The Bandits entered our second tournament of the season this weekend in St. Thomas.  Friday afternoon we started the tournament off with a game against the Windsor Jr. Spitfires.  This was a very close game with some exceptional goaltending from both teams.  The Bandits stuck with our game plan though played solid defence and we pulled out a hard fought 3-1 victory over a very good opponent.

Saturday we started the day off bright and early arriving at the rink at 6:45am for our game against LaSalle.  The boys looked a little bit sleepy in the first period but managed to get some pucks in the back of the net and at the end of the second we held a 3-2 lead.  Right off the opening draw of the third, LaSalle put on in to tie it up.  Then we got into some penalty trouble and LaSalle got another quick one on us to take the lead.  The boys never gave up though and got one back to tie it up.  Then as the clock was ticking down the boys reached for a little more and stepped it up a gear.  We battled and battled in their end and finally put the go ahead goal home.  The boys held on for a 5-4 victory.

Our last game of the day Saturday was against Amherstburg.  The boys were definitely awake for this one.  We came out flying and took an early lead.  The team got into some penalty trouble again, but managed to fight through it.  We maintained the lead and never looked back taking a strong 5-1 victory for our last round robin game.  This game also put us into first place, putting us through to the semi finals.

Sunday morning our semi final featured a rematch against LaSalle who played very well against us Saturday morning.  This time though our boys were awake and ready for the challenge.  We pushed the pace of the game and wore down a good LaSalle team.  The boys came out with a 5-2 Victory setting up a rematch with Windsor in the finals.

The finals saw Windsor come out flying, looking for retribution.  The only problem for them is that are boys were ready for it.  The Bandits took their game to a level we had not yet seen, playing their best game of the season.  Start to finish we won the battles coming out on top 5-1 winning our second tournament championship of the season.

The coaching staff is extremely proud of how the boys played this weekend.  They fought hard and came out on top.  Great job boys, lets keep it rolling.
