Jayden Houseleague Tournament Rules 2017
1. All Hockey Canada rules will apply. The Tournament chair has final responsibility for all tournament rules, regulations andprotests
2. The OHF Suspension List will be used to assess all Major, Misconduct and Match Penalties. The tournament chair will add to the minimum list if appropriate. If a play or coach receives a suspension during the tournament, you must check with the tournament office to confirm the number of games he/she must sit.
3. Teams are required to show player cards or roster sheets prior to their first game. All teams will be limited to a maximum of 19 players. Teams are allowed a maximum of 5 officials on the bench. Home is team is designated by the tournament schedule. Home team wears Dark colors. In case of conflicting sweaters the team will change.
4. Teams are asked to be at the arena 45 minutes before their scheduled game time. Teams should be prepared and read to play 15 minutes ahead of schedule start times, should tournament conditions permit.
5. No one is allowed on the ice during the flooding, until the Zamboni has left the ice and the doors are closed. Teams will be limited to a 3 minute warm-up. Teams will shake hands before each game. Visiting team will leave the playing surface first after each game.
6. Players will only be allowed to participate with one team in the tournament, regardless of AP Status. All AP players must be approved by the Tournament Director with the appropriate documentation. Please speak with the Tournament director prior to coming to the tournament re this direction.
7. Dressing rooms are to be vacated promptly after the game has been completed. Arena staff will inspect the room prior to the n ext team entering. Keys for the dressing room are available from Guest services at the Western Fair and with arena staff at other facilities.
8. If 5 or more goal differential at start of the 3rd period the clock, will only stop if 4 or less at any time in the 3rd
9. Games for all division will be 10-10-10, stop time periods. Games will not have a curfew. No time outs are allowed in preliminary rounds, one per team in the quarter, semi and finals.
10. Preliminary games resulting in a tie after regulation time will remain in a tie.
11. Preliminary Round Standings will be determined by the following in descending order:
a) Most points - 2 for a win, 1 for a tie
b) Head-to-head competition if only 2 teams are tied
c) Using the results of the preliminary round robin games, the team with the highest result using the formal: _ Goals for____________ Goals for + Goals Against /Goals against
d) The team that scored the most goals in the preliminary round robin
e) The team that allowed the fewest goals again in the preliminary round robin
f) The team that scored the earliest goal in their first game in the tournament
g) Coin Toss

12. If a tie exists after regulation time in quarter or semi-final game, the tie will be broken by a five minute sudden-death period.5 on 5 If still tied,will be broken by a shoot-out. 5 shooters chosen. If still tied after then sudden death shoot out, same shooters.
b.Final Game: A TIE at the end of regulation time will be broken by a 10 minute, sudden death overtime period. If score is still tied, there will be a shoot-out same format as quarters and semis. Forfeit - If the game is a forfeit, it’s a 3-0 victory for the remaining team.
13. The tournament Committee reserves the right to change the rules prior to the tournament in which they will notify teams of these changes.

14.Affiliated players are not allowed in any H.L. tournaments without prior written approval from the tournament committee.To call up an affiliated player, a coach must contact and obtain permission from:

the association convenor

the player’s coach

the player’s parent

A coach must give permission unless:

there are conflicting games
-
there are previously scheduled tournaments and or exhibition games

there are less than 3 hours between games (per H.C. rules)

The Affiliated player must be identified as such on the travel permit and or game sheets

If both the ‘AP’ and the team player that was to be replaced both show up for a game it will be the 'AP' that dresses to play and the "unexpected" player will sit out. Any team using an 'AP' cannot exceed 10 skaters.

Infraction of this rule will have the player removed from all CHL A/P lists and the offending coach may be suspended for one game with the game possibly being re-scheduled within six days at the offending team's cost.
