We are proud to announce that three of our London Bandits board volunteers were recognized with the Sports Volunteer Award by the City of London on May 1st. Please join us in congratulating these incredible individuals for their dedication and service.
Shawn Reidy
Shawn was nominated by his Ringette organization but is also a dedicated volunteer with the London Bandits. His efforts go far beyond any single organization. Shawn is passionate about promoting youth sports, and his work to increase awareness of our teams—especially through creative, cost-effective advertising—has helped more kids get involved in hockey. His commitment and energy are truly appreciated.
Don Drown
Don has devoted many years to supporting the London Minor Hockey Association, the London Bandits, the Community Hockey League (CHL), and the Greater London Hockey Association (GLHA). He has been instrumental in managing our budgets, ensuring ice time is properly allocated, and supporting our tournaments. As our ice convenor, Don dedicates countless hours behind the scenes making sure schedules run smoothly and our finances stay on track. Even though he no longer has children in the league, Don continues to serve selflessly—always with a positive attitude and a problem-solving mindset. His nearly 15 years of service deserve a standing ovation!
Michelle Drown
Michelle also dedicates an extraordinary amount of time managing the finances for the London Bandits. She previously served with LMHA and continues to be a strong advocate for accessibility in youth hockey. Michelle works hard to secure additional funding for players through various local organizations, always putting the needs of others first. Her dedication ensures that more children—regardless of their financial situation—have the opportunity to play the game they love.
Please join us in congratulating Shawn, Don, and Michelle on this well-deserved recognition. If you see them around, take a moment to thank them for everything they do for our community!
