Coaches Information

Coaches are essential to hockey at every level. A caring, enthusiastic, well-trained coach can be a positive influence on the experience of players, parents, and other coaches.

ALLIANCE Hockey works with Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation, and our Members to provide effective education, certification, and registration for hundreds of hockey coaches annually.

The GLHA and member partners follow the following guidelines.

Porting My Profile to a New Implementation:

If you are already a fully certified user for the Respect in Sport Activity Leader, Respect in Sport for Hockey (Speak Out Online), or Respect in School programs, you may transfer (port) your certification and profile to a new implementation. All three program certifications are interchangeable. For example, if you are a teacher/coach and you completed the Respect in School program or you are a hockey coach and have completed the Respect in Sport program and you want to transfer your profile to another application you can. HOCKEY CANADA REGISTRY (HCR)

If you have registered in hockey previously as a Player, Coach, Official, or Trainer you can view your profile in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR 3.0).

Please ensure you register as a Volunteer Coach on our HCR system - so we can ensure your qualifications are up to date.

CAC - THE LOCKER

The Locker is the Coaching Association of Canada's online database. Access to The Locker will provide all coaches with the opportunity to track their progress and guide their development.

  • Coaches can create a log-in and access their Profile and Transcript online - where they can view/update personal information, coaching records, and access printable transcripts.
  • Certification Maintenance & Professional Development points will be tracked on the Coach’s Transcript in ‘The Locker’ and will update the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) Profile when ‘Certified’ status is renewed.

Other Important Information

The London Bandits will reimburse the following courses over a two-year period - Coach 1, Coach 2, D1 - please keep your receipts to be reimbursed. You will get your first half of reimbursement at the end of the season (Prior to April 30th) and the second half after the second year (just prior to April 30th). Please ensure you send receipts and send them to our Treasurer - [email protected]

OHF will not allowing coaches on the ice without a police screening - please ensure this is completed before the season.
