Wayne Karlstedt - Initiation Award

Wayne was a coach with the London Minor Hockey Association for years. He had a reputation for helping players who seemed to struggle with their skills and for developing those skills. He never gave up on them, continuing to encourage them and practicing with them until they reached their goals.

Wayne lost his life in April of 2019, and one of the families would like to honour him each year with an award for a coach in the Initiation program who demonstrates these qualities. This coach shows compassion, love for the game, dedication, and the ability to care for and help children improve their skills as hockey players.

Criteria for the Award

• IP Coach/Assistant coach/On Ice helper
• No person may be awarded the honor more than once.
