It was easy to expect that the A team would come into last Sunday's game very let down, given that they came less than 2 minutes and one bad bounce from going to the City Finals AND Provincials. And, in fact, it was clear from the outset that the team's heart was not in this one.

The way things had played out, all the Bandits needed to do to go to the City Final AND earn a berth at provincials was to tie or win. But we were facing the #1 team in Oakridge.

Sometimes, numbers don't pan out. Going into last night's first playoff tilt, Bandits A had lost 3 straight; they also hadn't won any game convincingly since the season's opening two games, when they won 6-1 and 5-2; and they hadn't beaten the Bandits C team all season (albeit with two ties). It's often said that the playoffs begin a brand new season, and this is now what the A team must hope for as it lost its third consecutive game, this time 4-2 to Oakridge, to close out the regular season.
