Coach's Message
Morning everyone,
Hope you’re all are having an excellent Friday so far. We certainly have a busy week ahead of us for sure. Just
thought I’d drop this little note to all players and parents from the
coaching staff on just how happy we all are with how the season and team
has been doing to date.
It’s still early in the season and we’ve got a long way to go, but I have to say we’ve been very happy with the not only the talent displayed from the boys individually and as a team to date, but even more impressed by the work ethic, positive attitude and over all team bonding we’ve seen both on and off the ice from the boys. I know that I speak for the coaching staff in saying that watching the boys in particular last Friday at the Wolf Reserve up in Haliburton and just how much fun they had that afternoon competing against one another, building trust and bonds during the games with one another and the chance for the coaches to experience it with them was just awesome! When a camp councellor takes you aside and expresses her thanks for working with such an excellent group and one of the best ones she’s had the chance to work within the past 3 years says so much about who these young boys are.
There’s no doubt we’ve definitely been thrown early in the season that curveball with the team injury bug, but seeing these boys both smiling walking into and leaving the rink, running around playing jokes on one another, laughing on and off the ice and supporting each other giving words of encouragement when team challenges face them makes your passion for this game and for helping them that much more exciting….great job guys! I also wanted to express our thanks from the coaching staff to all the parents for their support so far on whatever we’ve done or thrown at you and just how you’ve jumped on board with supporting the team and the management staff. It has been greatly appreciated. There’s no doubt we’ll have one very good memory of this season when it’s all said and done and that’s of the presidential suites we all had at the famous Silver Maple Motel...LOL . It was quite the place.
Take care and thanks Coach Rodney, Dan, Dave, Darryl and Dave.
