Welcome Minor Peewee MD
My Name is Chris Ferguson, and I will be the coach for the 2007 birth year Bandit MD team again this season.
As summer slowly slips away from us, and some of us start to think hockey again. The excitement and anticipation build for the up coming season. As the players get older and more mature, the speed and intensity grow with them. This will be one of the focuses of this years team. The Peewee years of hockey are a big stepping stone as to where players would like to go in the future, ex. High school hockey, Junior Hockey or even a higher caliber of minor hockey. This season we will be asking the players to grow with the game and work together as a fast, hard working, determined unit.
A few of the things, and many more, the evaluators and I will be looking for in tryouts:
Speed and Intensity-Not just skating speed, but the speed in moving the puck, speed as to react to a play, and the speed to anticipate the play. Intensity to never give up, no matter the task.
Determination and Effort-Not just going through the motions in drills, giving it your all every time they are on the ice, practices and games. The willingness to learn and listen, not to be a distraction. The want and drive to improve and get better.
Teamwork: Must be able to work as a group. It's a team game, Not an individual sport. Passing is a must and will practiced all year. The introduction of systems and plays need to have everyone working together.
