Hello everyone and welcome to the Minor Bantam U14 BB/B team.
Below is some important info in regard to tryouts.
Tryouts will take place on the following dates/times:
Prep Skates-
Sept 8th, Bostwick Arena. 8 pm.
Sept 9th. Nichols Arena. 5 pm.
Sept 10th. Nichols Arena. 5 pm.
Evaluations-
Sept 13th. Nichols Arena. 8 pm.
Sept 16th. Argyle Arena. 3 pm
Sept 17th. Nichols Arena. 2 pm.
Sept 18th. Argyle Arena. 8 pm.
Sept 19th. Nichols Arena. 8 pm.
The tryout process will be intense, and players are expected to show up ready to compete for a spot. The team will be selected using independent evaluators to select the top 17 players. The team will have a 17-player roster, 9 forwards, 6 defense, and 2 goalies. The following are the core hockey priorities that I will look for when evaluating players trying out for the London Bandits Minor Bantam BB team. This will be the foundation that will form the team’s identity.
1. Attitude:
• Shows respect for the game, teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents
• Supports teammates
• Desire to always learn and show discipline
2. Skating:
• Sound agility and balance on both feet
• Speed and acceleration in all directions
• Ability to have speed with and without the puck
3. Hockey sense:
• Ability to make teammates around them part of the play
• Ability to read the ice and react to the situation
• To be creative
4. Puck control:
• Skill to handle the puck at high speed in traffic and open ice
• Ability to make hard and accurate passes
• Skill to place their shots on net
5. Complete player:
• Strong in battles in all areas of the ice
• Relentless work ethic
• Keeps emotions under control
