Big Stops Lead to 2-0 Shutout Win
It was a night when the Bandits had trouble finding the net, and yet it didn't matter. In a tight, fast game in which there were numerous chances both ways, it seemed that the Bandits consistently shot high or wide (or both), except for a single laser shot from slick-skating AP defenseman Justin C. in the first that would end up being the game winner.
Ben made about a half dozen bordering on miraculous saves on shots from in close that left the Oakridge bench shaking its heads. The winning goal was a pretty one, in that it was a nice pass from team captain Ryan H. to Justin, who took one step and then snapped a shot up over the goalie's left shoulder from 30 feet out.
In the end, a sharp-angled empty net goal from Brett sealed the deal.
First star: Ben for being perfect with 24 saves on 24 shots to get his first shutout of the year
Second star: Justin C. for a perfect shot
Third star: Ryan Ha. for a perfect pass.
But the whole team played well to win the final game of the playoff round robin and finish a respectable 4-5. Next up is a first-to-4-points series vs. North. Details TBA.
