Last weekend the Tier 1 Novice Bandits played some inspiring hockey to go undefeated in 5 games on the way to becoming tournament champions. Round robin play saw the Bandits tie 2-2, win 5-2, and tie 3-3 to put them into a semi-final match up. A strong effort allowed the team to stay close and eventually win the game 2-1 scoring the winning goal with under a minute to go. The championship game also ended up 2-1 as the team weathered a push by Fort Erie late on the way to the victory. Excellent team play and hard work was witnessed throughout the tournament by a boisterous crowd that saw the team finally come through in the end.

This past weekend the Tier 1 Novice Bandits competed in the Dan Pulham LMHA Tournament and showed teams from the Toronto area what London is all about. The team reeled of victories of 4-2, 7-1, and 4-1 over Halton Hills, Ajax, and Markham in the round robin while falling 5-1 to Orangeville. Despite the loss, the Bandits earned a birth in the final against that same Orangeville team. The final was a classic that saw a determined London team throw everything they had against a very good Orangeville team. In the end after a penalty shot, empty net goal, overtime, and a shootout, the Bandits fell just short. The coaching staff would like to congratulate the entire team on a fantastic effort throught the tournament. The team picture is attached.

The team played in their first tournament of the year this past weekend in Cobourg. After a slow start losing the first game 5-1, the Bandits finished off the round robin with an 8-0 game and a hard fought 3-3 tie. This put them into the semi-finals where they dominated winning 8-1 and set up a date in the finals. It was a great game and they battled to the end eventually scoring the equalizer late in the third period to tie it 2-2. Unfortunately, overtime was not as kind as Napanee scored in sudden death. The coaching staff is extremely proud of all the players as they persevered throughout the tourney. GO BANDITS GO! Read more to see the team and their hardware.
